Supporting even more events across Victoria
The latest round of the Regional Events Fund is now open, with grants available to regional event organisers to attract and deliver sporting, cultural and entertainment events through to 2027.
The $38 million fund, delivered by the Victorian Government through Visit Victoria, will give visitors even more reason to explore and discover what Victoria has to offer and help drive visitation.
Regional events highlight the incredible tourism offerings available throughout the state and bolster Victoria’s reputations as a world-class events destination.
Support is available across three streams:
- Stream 1 – Regional Event Acquisition: One off or ongoing major events.
- Stream 2 – Event Growth and Development: Funding of up to $500,000 to grow the economic impact of medium- to large-scale events.
- Stream 3 – Event Industry Support: Funding of up to $50,000 to build capability and support the marketing and operations of events that attract intrastate or interstate visitors.
The Fund is a key lever to support the State’s record $37.8 billion visitor economy, with regional events helping to drive visitation, extend visitors’ length of stay and increase spend across regional areas to support a more resilient and robust tourism sector.
The Regional Events Fund has supported more than 350 events across regional Victoria since 2016, including the Riverboats Music Festival on the Murray, Lost Trades Fair in Bendigo, Great Ocean Road Running Festival, Grampians Grape Escape, the East Gippsland Winter Festival, ChillOut Festival in Daylesford and Ballarat Marathon.
