Strategy & Planning Specialist

About the team

The Strategy & Transformation team leads the organisation’s approach to technology and data insights. The team is also responsible for embedding the organisation’s overarching strategy, as well as delivering research, data and key insights from across the tourism sector.

About the position

We are very excited to be offering the rare opportunity for a Strategy & Planning Specialist to join and team and help lead the development of Visit Victoria’s strategic planning and reporting and contribute to enterprise-wide strategic projects. This fixed term opportunity until February 2023 and will report to the Head of Strategy & Planning.

You will help drive the development and implementation of strategy and reshape how the business develops deep and strong relationships with each area of VV to support the achievement of their goals and deliver key projects.

Partnering with internal and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for:

  • Helping develop and implement new strategies for Visit Victoria
  • Working with business units to report against strategic plans 
  • Developing deep and strong relationships with each area of Visit Victoria 
  • Supporting the development of beneficial relationships with Visit Victoria’s key external stakeholders, including the Victorian Government and industry, to assist in achieving strategic goals.
  • Undertake special projects as required.

About you

Ideally you will bring knowledge from tertiary qualifications in a related area such as business, economics, tourism, or management.  This is not an essential requirement; however, it will be highly regarded. 

The experience and capabilities you will bring are:

  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including an ability to confidently communicate ideas and information in clear and concise ways which meet the needs of the target audience.
  • Prior experience in the delivery of strategies within a public sector environment.
  • Experienced stakeholder management and demonstrated ability to influence outcomes.
