ATDW Newsletter - August 2019

Welcome to the fourth edition of the Visit Victoria ATDW Newsletter, your dedicated ATDW industry update from the team at Visit Victoria.

ATDW-Online Development update

As part of ongoing maintenance of the ATDW-Online platform, there have been some recent enhancements made to help improve the user experience. These include:

Atdw Online Login Screen
  • Re-design of the login/registration screen to include information about how the ATDW works and a link to the ATDW corporate website
  • Re-design of the payment screen to make it clearer for operators who are required to pay for their listing or enter a coupon code
  • Design and content improvements to expiry reminder emails including clearer renewal instructions
  • An increase in the maximum field limit to four digits for 'Capacity' within the Accommodation category
  • Renamed Accreditation attributes as advised by Ecotourism Australia

Look out for these improvements when you next log in to ATDW-Online. If you have any questions or ideas for further improvement, please contact us.

Tourism operator scam warning

Many Victorian tourism operators have again been targeted by a "false billing" scam where they receive requests to verify their details, claim a listing or pay an invoice for the provision of advertising services. This scammer owns websites with similar names and logos to that of official tourism bodies.

The scammer has been issued with an injunction to stop this practice nationwide. If this continues, the scammer could be found in contempt of court which is punishable. If you receive any emails or invoices that you think may be a scam, please forward them to [email protected].

Visit Victoria would like to remind businesses to carefully look at who is issuing the invoices and verify the authenticity and authorisation of renewal bills. Visit Victoria or ATDW will never bill operators up-front for their ATDW listing. Operators pay or request an invoice for their listing subscription directly through ATDW-Online.

ATDW Industry Training

We have had a busy month meeting with local operators and tourism staff throughout regional Victoria to run ATDW training. The sessions throught the Yarra Valley, The Murray, Rutherglen and Phillip Island focused on how operators can enhance their ATDW listing to stand out from the crowd.

Attendees walked away with practical tips that they can apply to any of their online marketing activity, including writing an engaging description, choosing the right images and highlighting their points of difference.

To discuss ATDW training opportunities in your region, please contact us.
