Victoria Showcased to Over 300 Asian Travel Agents

Visit Victoria in partnership with 23 key Victorian tourism attractions and services recently participated in Tourism Australia’s Corroboree Asia 2018 event to promote the State to over 300 Asian front-line travel agents.

The trade event took place over four days on the Gold Coast in August, followed by Australia-wide familiarisation visits to encourage agents to sell Australia as a preferred long-haul destination to Asian travellers.

Over 50 exclusively qualified Aussie Specialist agents from China, Japan, Korea, India and Singapore, visited Melbourne and Victoria’s regions across four days.

Victoria left a memorable impression with over six regions visited including Great Ocean Road, Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, Victoria’s High Country and others.

Visit Victoria continues to focus on driving international visitation from Asia as a key priority market.

Visit Victoria launched a dedicated China marketing campaign in early 2018 and continues to showcase Melbourne and Victoria across multiple consumer channels, including online television, digital and social media platforms in Asia.

According to the latest performance results, in the year ending March 2018 Victoria welcomed three million international visitors, including more than 640,000 visitors from China.
