Melbourne is gearing up for a mammoth weekend of major events that are expected to draw more than 600,000 people into the city between Thursday and Sunday.

White Night Reimagined will showcase live performances and art installations across Birrarung Marr, Treasury Gardens, and Carlton Gardens and Melbourne’s cultural institutions will offer special programming and extended hours.

Mad Max: Fury Road in the forecourt of Melbourne Museum will be a must-see for many, bringing together live performance, film footage, projections and special effects from the famous Australian movie.

Marvel Stadium will host more than 100,000 basketball fans over two nights as the Boomers take on the USA, and in the final round of the AFL, arch-rivals Collingwood and Essendon will battle it out at the MCG on Friday night.

These events will run alongside a collection of hot-ticket theatre productions led by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Come From Away and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Visit Victoria is proud to bring White Night Reimagined and the Boomers vs USA to Melbourne, giving more proof that Melbourne truly is a global events city!
