This is an exciting and challenging role, where you will provide your event management and marketing skills to deliver Trade Event programs and projects representing Visit Victoria and the Victorian tourism industry.
Coordinate and deliver Visit Victoria’s presence and the Victorian tourism industry’s involvement in numerous international trade events in Australia and overseas.
Coordinate and administer of Trade and Industry activities
Coordinate the budget and financial processes for industry event activities.
Negotiate with, encourage and motivate event organisers, Visit Victoria staff, and stakeholders to support or participate in Industry Programs.
Coordinate familiarisation programs associated with International Industry Events.
Undertake research and analysis; prepare correspondence, briefings, submissions and reports to communicate issues and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Plan, lead and facilitate information sessions and consultative processes for Industry Events and Initiatives.
Maintain Event Industry databases and prepare reports when required.
Prepare, coordinate and manage material for print publications, event stands and promotional displays.
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Proven Event Management experience specifically in the Tourism and Travel Industry.
Proven ability to prepare reports, manage project budgets and develop systems to facilitate day to day operations of a trade event.
Sound communication skills including the ability to relate to a wide range of people including senior management, stakeholders and industry representatives.
Well-developed creative, conceptual and analytical skills.
Experience in public speaking and presentations.
A Certificate or Diploma in Event Management or Tourism would be desirable.
A knowledge of the Victorian tourism industry.
This position has a requirement to work out of hours, and it will involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel.
