The Strategy & Transformation team leads the organisation’s approach to technology and data insights. The team is responsible for embedding the organisation’s overarching strategy, as well as delivering research, data and key insights from across the tourism sector

About the role

The Specialist, Digital Platforms will provide a key role in providing enterprise-wide technical support and advice for the organisation’s digital technologies and consumer facing websites.  The role will further advocate for strengthening the information security controls and consumer data integrity at Visit Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot Level 1 & 2 technical issues with web applications and provide digital platform maintenance and technical support for Visit Victoria’s consumer facing digital channels in line with change control processes and in conjunction with external vendors, across all business units
  • Support the development of the implementation plan to consolidate platforms within the existing Visit Victoria digital technology ecosystem related to the organisation’s Digital roadmap/Blueprint
  • Support Technology & Digital vendor relationships and day to day website maintenance requirements. Implement processes and initiatives to better leverage digital platforms across Visit Victoria through technology integrations while contributing to the success of agile web development projects. 
  • Undertake and facilitate the testing of website projects, enhancements and new applications for Visit Victoria’s digital channels, assist with requirements and user acceptance testing to ensure requirements have been delivered and standards have been met by external suppliers.
  • Assist with the identification and remediation of any information security vulnerabilities and support improved security practices and data governance at Visit Victoria.  Contribute to improved security practices and data governance across the organisation and ensure that system documentation is up to date and accurate.
  • Contribute to the development of digital technology strategies and planning across the Digital, Data & Innovation team and other key business units within Visit Victoria.

Your Experience

  • Demonstrated experience (minimum 5+ years) in the use and support of digital technologies, software and services and a working knowledge of the internet including a strong technical knowledge of web sites, cloud services, SaaS applications, public networks and content management  systems.
  • A good understanding of cyber security, emerging threats and mitigation strategies.  Knowledge of relevant information security standards, regulations and their applicability, including but not limited to: AS/NZS ISO/IEC 27000 series, Victorian Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014, Victorian Protective Data Security Framework.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and demonstrated experience with the development and maintenance of web-based applications, usability, and accessibility within the context of industry or Victorian government web standards.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills with an attention to detail.
  • Relevant industry certification or practical experience in applied Information Security standards.
  • Experience with Sitecore, WordPress or other content management systems and cloud infrastructure services (either Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Relevant experience across other digital platforms and technologies, for example, CRM, data-lakes, email platforms and Google Analytics 360.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Digital Technology or related discipline (desired)
