The purpose of this position is to support the successful delivery of Visit Victoria’s host city obligations of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020. The Project Coordinator, T20 World Cup will work with the Project Manager, T20 World Cup and the wider Event Marketing and Relationships team on all aspects of the Visit Victoria’s contractual deliverables of the event. The role will be responsible for the planning and execution of the City Dressing and City Lighting project that will see the city activated at key tournament dates. This exciting role is also responsible for supporting the day to day planning and delivery of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 host city program, marketing program, liaising with key stakeholders of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 and working with the key activation agencies appointed by Visit Victoria to deliver tournament activations.
Planning and implementation of the City Dressing and City Lighting project that will see Melbourne/Victoria activated across key tournament milestones. This will include working with key Local Government Stakeholders.
Support the management of contracts between Visit Victoria and key stakeholders including the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee (LOC), venues, delivery partners and State Government related to the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 event.
Support the delivery of Visit Victoria’s T20 World Cup Project Plan and Marketing Plan to ensure all milestones and deliverables are met.
Maintain Visit Victoria’s T20 World Cup project planning documents, including timelines and WIP documents.
Support the day-to-day supplier relationship (including the activation agencies) responsible for the delivery of Visit Victoria’s contractual obligations related to the event, including fan engagement activities.
Support the Project Manager with coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of Visit Victoria’s tournament obligations to the highest standard.
Represent when required, Visit Victoria on key ICC T20 World Cup 2020 steering committees and working groups. Ensure that the organisation has a voice in decision making, provide regular reporting and insights to key stakeholders on Visit Victoria’s event related activity and maintain positive working relationships with committee and group members.
Undertake research and analysis, exploring best market practice and innovative activation campaigns around major sport events, ability to prepare reports and briefings to senior management and stakeholders.
Undertake administrative functions such as monitoring budgets and contract milestones.
Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in, event management, experience working on major sporting events is desirable.
Demonstrated ability and understanding of planning and operational delivery of events and related projects, experience of State and Local Government, Public Sector and Ministerial Office’s operating environment is desirable.
High level of written and verbal communication skills, experience in project planning tools and excel is desirable.
Well-developed interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team and develop effective working relationships with managers, staff, contractors, suppliers and diverse stakeholders.
Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills, ability to resolve operational issues to achieve agreed outcomes identify and advise on issues and improvements.
A tertiary qualification in event management, business or a related area.
At least 3 years’ experience in the industry
