Marketing Amplification Manager

About the Role

The Marketing Amplification Manager is responsible for marketing and content distribution in support of brand and business objectives. This role will be responsible for leading a team of traditional and new media specialists to deliver omni-channel, visitor-centric marketing campaigns, platforms and activities to build awareness and increase visitation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of omni-channel media and distribution communications plans that deliver an optimal consumer experience and meet brand and business objectives. Ensure alignment of channels and content to maximise amplification and impact.
  • Provide high level strategic input and advice to internal teams to collectively deliver an integrated and cohesive audience experience, across multiple channels including social media, public relations, digital and traditional advertising.  
  • Working collaboratively, provide input to the Content Innovation & Production team to ensure content is fit for channel.
  • Working collaboratively, provide input to the Marketing Technology team to ensure media leverages Visit Victoria’s Data Management and Marketing Automation platforms and insights where relevant.
  • Proactively drive the identification and knowledge sharing of new media trends and opportunities, channel innovations and discovery of format development, in collaboration with Visit Victoria’s media, creative, other agency partners and internal teams. 
  • Work with the Content Innovation & Production, Customer Experience and Marketing Technology teams to ensure systematic measurement and analysis of media performance, content optimisation, channel use and impact.
  • Manage a specialist team consisting of advertising, media, social, and PR subject matter experts, to deliver a range of communications, campaigns and programs that deliver on business objectives and tell the story of Melbourne/Victoria. Manage the staff, financial and information resources of the team. 

Know How

  • Management experience in a marketing environment including a proven track record in effectively managing human resources, cross-functional teams and significant budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with advertising and media buying agencies, as well as media publishers, to deliver successful omni-channel and global marketing campaigns.
  • An excellent understanding of integrated marketing and communications strategies, key advertising, public relations and media principles and processes.
  • High level knowledge of the changing media and channel landscape in particular digital, social and performance media, and an understanding of content development and data management platforms
  • High level project management skills, including demonstrated experience developing large scale brand advertising and integrated marketing campaigns, as well as agile, fast-to-market, dynamic marketing activities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to maintain effective working relationships with industry stakeholders, significant contractors, management and staff. 
  • High level creative, research and analytical skills including the ability to develop and evaluate marketing strategies and programs.
  • Highly-developed communication, public speaking and influencing skills, ability to prepare media briefs, high quality reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence.
  • Well-developed understanding of the Melbourne & Victoria brands and Melbourne/Victoria tourism product and experiences. 

Other Information

  • A tertiary qualification in any of the following: tourism, marketing, communications or advertising.
  • Drivers licence
  • This position has a requirement to work out of hours, and it will involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel.
