Manager Media Services

About the Role

The role will build and maintain key stakeholder relationships with our suite of global and domestic media partners, lead first-to-market media initiatives and stand as an in-house specialist on paid media strategies & implementation. This role is an important element of Visit Victoria’s customer experience team and is tasked with ensuring paid media strategies are amplified and integrated into owned and earned communications. 


This position reports to the Amplification Manager and is responsible for the management of planning and delivery of Visit Victoria’s global paid media outputs across traditional and digital channels to support consumer marketing campaign initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist advice and recommendations to manage and guide the implementation Visit Victoria’s paid media strategies including budget and performance optimisation and reconciliation. 
  • Manage the planning and delivery of advertising and media services for Visit Victoria and its key stakeholders.
  • Ensure a consumer-led and data-informed paid media approach in direct collaboration with the Visit Victoria marketing technology team.
  • Strategically identify, secure and manage Visit Victoria’s contracts and relationships with a range of media partners in Australia and abroad.
  • Evaluate and provide specialist advice, recommendations and direction on various media and advertising opportunities that are presented to Visit Victoria.
  • Manage the integrity and consistency of the Visit Victoria brand in all advertising and communications channels.
  • Provide high level advice on advertising and media campaigns, issues, trends, competitor advertising activities and strategies to optimise Visit Victoria’s advertising and marketing budget.
  • Prepare high level briefings, Board Papers, associated correspondence and presentation regarding advertising and media campaigns.

Your Experience

  • An excellent understanding of integrated marketing and communications strategies, key advertising and media principles and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and implementing large-scale integrated media marketing campaigns including the analytical appraisal and optimisation of campaigns 
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills and demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of advertising and marketing campaigns.
  • High level experience in stakeholder management and a solid track record in managing the relationships with large-scale advertising and media agencies to deliver high profile consumer marketing initiatives.
  • High level planning and project management skills, including experience in budget management and proven ability to plan and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • High level communications skills, ability to write high quality advertising and media briefs, briefings and correspondence and deliver high level presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level understanding of tourism brands, communications and advertising trends and how changing consumer trends and behaviours have affected these areas. 
  • A tertiary qualification in any of the following: tourism, marketing, communications or advertising.

Other Requirements

  • This position has a requirement to work out of hours, and it will involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel.
  • This position is located in Melbourne
  • This position is a Fixed Term Position Only
