Consumer Insights Coordinator

About the Role

This role is part of a small team who provide consumer insights for Visit Victoria to build strategy, business plans and Marketing activities.  The position is crucial to the development, analysis and dissemination of core industry and segment data.  In line with our strategic goal to build the value of the Visitor Economy to $36.5Bn by 2025, the Consumer Insights team provide an important, objective, interface between campaign and event outcomes and market data. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake ad hoc analysis of consumer research and statistics as required.
  • Support the Consumer Insights Team by assisting in the coordination, implementation and running of research projects as required.
  • Provide insightful research advice and expertise across the business including presenting research information to the business. 
  • Coordinate the updating, enhancement and dissemination of reports for Consumer Insights and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development, preparation and distribution of performance metrics and the development of the research program.

Your Experience

  • Demonstrated research skills including market research methods and report writing.
  • Sound quantitative, data interpretation skills with ability to critically examine key issues and implications of research findings. 
  • Proven experience in the application of insights to inform the business.
  • Strong technical skills including demonstrated capacity to use analytical software and excel. 
  • Well-developed communication, public presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills, together with a client-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • A tertiary qualification in any of the following: Business, Statistics, Psychology or  Marketing.
  • Knowledge of tourism trends, issues and consumer behaviour. 

Other Information

  • This position has a requirement to work out of hours, and it will involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel.
