Business Development Manager – Official Visitor Products

(Contract 8 months with extension opportunity)

Visit Victoria, Victoria’s primary tourism and events company, has a unique opportunity for a highly motivated self-driven individual to join its Official Visitor Products team in the position of a Business Development Manager.

Newly housed at Visit Victoria, the Official Visitor Products are an evolving project currently undergoing a redesign and relaunch for Autumn 2020. You will be a part of a highly engaged team of people with a common goal.

This is a dynamic B2B sales and business development role, where you will be responsible for maintaining and developing revenue opportunities across key industry partners for Melbourne Official Visitors Guides and other products. Produced quarterly in English and Chinese, the Melbourne Official Visitors Guide is a valued marketing tool for the State of Victoria, providing a comprehensive overview of things to see and do across the city, greater Melbourne and Regional Victoria and is a strategic asset for Visit Victoria.

The role will also be responsible for managing key client relationships within Victoria’s hospitality, tourism and events industry providers, Government stakeholders and a broader business community.

You will have:

  • Passion for proactive B2B business development and sales with a solution-based approach
  • Proven track record of achieving individual revenue targets in a KPI based sales environment on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously in deadline driven environment
  • Superior organisational and presentation skills
  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills to build long-term value for industry partners
  • A well-crafted sales and account management process and methodologies
  • Previous hands-on CRM experience
  • Ability to quickly forge relationships to identify and convert business opportunities
  • No fear approach to new business development through cold-calling and networking
  • Business Development research skills to identify and unlock business opportunities
  • Resilience and adaptability to change
  • Consultative selling approach to business acquisition
  • Proven track record in a proactive sales role within hospitality, tourism, print or digital media, event sponsorship or similar environments is required
  • High level of personal integrity
