Business Development Coordinator (MCB)

About the company

As a part of Visit Victoria, Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) leads the acquisition and delivery of national and global business events for Melbourne and regional Victoria. This is achieved through partnering with the Victorian State Government, City of Melbourne, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and over 120 private enterprise partners. MCB has more than 50 years of experience in securing business events for Melbourne with local and global teams dedicated to business development, bidding and sales, convention servicing, marketing, and partnerships.

About the role

Reporting into the Director of Business Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and research support to the Business Development team, including CRM Management and lead qualification.  
Some key accountabilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate research and evaluate national and international leads for the Business Development team and present the most viable opportunities for further development and investigation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data management for all assigned accounts/leads/contacts/traces in the CRM system.
  • Support the delivery of Business Development client events.
  • Foster and advance relationships with stakeholders

Skills & Experience

To be considered for the position, you will have previous experience within a sales support or administrative role, alongside familiarity with the events, associations, or academic industry. Ideally tertiary qualified, you will have outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and expertise in research and data analysis expertise. You will be organized, methodical with strong CRM skills and a desire to support and grow the business events industry in Melbourne and Victoria, supporting with the economic and business bounce back post COVID.
